Air handling units: integrated solutions for energy savings
The
AHU applications are characterized by a great range of plant solutions with
different integration levels. Carel, leader on the regulation in HVAC/R world,
thanks to the ten-year experience on designing and producing electronic
controllers, humidifiers and accessories, offers the most complete solution
range for this application.
The
modular structure of the controllers, the different humidifiers available and
the complete range of accessories let you set any kind of installation, which
increasing integration leaves up to the complete supervision of the plant to
reach the absolute reliability and the maximum energy saving.
The
system approach joins with the flexibility of the solutions, both hardware,
i.e. architecture and components, and software, starting from the standard up
to the complete customization of the application software thanks to 1tool
programming tool.
Flexibility: I/O chip technology means all the
most common types of sensors can be read: the signal channel can also be
configured to read digital inputs or pulse signals or can even be used as an
additional analogue output to drive modulating device, which are commonly used
on AHUs.
Connectivity: 5 serial connections to share data
with several local or remote BMS, or FieldBus integration of smart actuators
(inverters, dampers, valves, humidifiers,..).
Usability: USB. The two USB ports (host-device)
can be used to connect pendrives for updating the software or downloading logs,
or alternatively to connect directly to a PC for commissioning.
Memory: More space for more languages on the
user interface, and to save the many significant variables for analyzing AHU
operation.

experience in HVAC, especially regarding humidification and evaporative
cooling, represent important added value for this controller, making it ideal
for managing AHUs.
Standard
application software for AHU control:
The application software guarantees the maximum adaptability to each AHU,
providing all the most common working modules for air handling units.
Moreover
it is possible to choose the position of each input and output, allowing you to
change the I/O on site during installation.
Its
versatility matches with its configuration ease, thanks to the simple and
intuitive user interface: the use of icons allows its comprehension to the less
expert users, showing wizard and suggestions if necessary. The user interface
is organized according to a menu divided in macro-areas (tree architecture) to
which it is possible to access according to the level (the manufacturer
parameters are password blocked): a careful display management let you scroll
only the parameters required according to the enabled functions.
Energy

solution combines the adiabatic humidification and the evaporative cooling , providing
a global solution for the energy savings of air handling units.
